Tell us what you think about working in social care

The annual surveys are here!

For the third year running, the Staffordshire Social Care Workforce Partnership want to know what you think about working in social care, and what organisations think about where they are in their own strengths-based journey using a self-assessment framework.

“Not another survey” we hear you cry!  But these annual surveys are crucial to making things better. Just as an example, last year you said that you need more wellbeing support, and through more conversations there are now far more Mental Health First Aiders working in social care settings across Staffordshire. We’re also expanding the range of discounts and freebies available from local businesses to help with the challenging cost of living.

Individual workforce survey

This survey is for individual members of our workforce to let us know what they think, so in turn we can make sure our Strategy and local actions are focussing on what’s important to them. Open from 10 June to 22 September 2024, this survey is a prime opportunity to make your voice heard and make a difference for you and your social care colleague family, whatever your role.

We want to keep you working in social care in Staffordshire for as long as you want to, so we’re committed to improving the practicalities and how it feels on a day-to-day basis. So… what keeps you working in social care?  What could be improved?  How are you getting on day-to-day?

Have your say

Annual Self-Assessment - strengths-based journey

Whilst we’re also running the annual staff survey (for individuals working in any role in any setting) about what’s it’s like to work in care, we’re asking organisations about their views on where they are in their own journey using a self-assessment framework.  We are asking you to consider how you’re getting on from a manager point of view, a staff point of view and critically from the point of view of the person receiving care and support.

We know strengths-based conversations are happening each and every day in social care, which is great.  We also recognise it is a journey of continuous improvement and discovery. Last year was the first organisational self-assessment, and we heard that there was already many great examples of working in a strengths-based way.   The average score was 4 out of 5 from people receiving care and support when asked about how strength-based they thought organisations were. This was great work, but people recognised there was more to be done.  This year we’d love to hear more about everyone’s journey so we can understand the best ways to help and support.

Open from 10 June to 22 September 2024, this self-assessment is a prime opportunity to help shape strength-based approaches across Staffordshire for the benefit of everybody!

How are you getting on with putting the person at the centre of their care and support?
